Hi I’m Sara Spatz! I am a rising junior studying Managerial Information Systems & Marketing at Temple University, and the new marketing intern for Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. I was fortunate enough to receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of a globally recognized nonprofit dedicated towards building strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing. Being selected to participate in the Summer Youth Corps Internship program, run by Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is an honor. FCP selects 12-16 summer interns each year, to be “matched” with a local nonprofit organization to make a difference in Bucks County. The matchmaking process involves interviewing with the nonprofit agency and finding compatible ideals and goals between the agency and the intern. I grew up in Bucks County and have always been active in my community, and was looking to start pursuing a career in civil/community engagement. I wanted to work for someone/something I believe in, and who better to represent than my local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity?
I will be working primarily with marketing and outreach, focusing on the digital side of marketing. What I’ve learned so far is that it is an awesome place to volunteer. You can too. Check out the many different opportunities here.
