Homeownership

OWN A HOME

Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County sells newly constructed or renovated homes to qualified families and individuals who live or work in Bucks County and meet the program qualifications. Our homebuyers purchase their homes with affordable mortgages and pay taxes on the full values of their homes.

Approved homebuyers qualify for monthly housing payments equal to 30% of their gross monthly incomes. Housing payments include mortgage, property tax, insurance and association fees, if applicable. Prior to purchase, homebuyers invest “sweat equity” and help build their homes and attend financial workshops. Since 1990, we have built more than 101 homes in Bucks County! Habitat Bucks constructed homes meet strict ENERGY STAR® requirements (windows, doors appliances etc.), and are built with sustainability in mind.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are not barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, or any other basis as required by law.

Due to the nature of Habitat’s program requirements, we cannot help families in emergency situations. Persons needing immediate housing assistance are encouraged to call Bucks County’s “Housing Link” number to connect to such services: 1-800-810-4434.
