Hector wasn’t getting anywhere. Rental costs for a six-person family eliminated his ability to save. 
Buying a house was out of the question. So, his family and he continued to share his parents’ two-bedroom home in Warminster.
Then, he heard about Habitat from his co-worker and completed his inquiry form. Hector next signed up for Habitat’s Almost Home homebuyer readiness program.
He met with a financial counselor and he built a new budget. Matched with a coach, he increased his savings goals—he brought his lunch to work; his family stopped eating out; they sacrificed—a lot. He showed up for every workshop. He took every skill and mastered it. While he waited for a decision from Habitat’s family selection committee, he graduated from Almost Home.
Hector wanted more, but found obstacles everywhere…until he found Habitat. He moved his family into a brand new home in Morrisville in 2019.
