a helping hand to someone in need. |

At Habitat
Bucks, volunteers build homes, work in the office, plan special
events, raise funds and spread the word about Habitat. From seniors
to youth and from every skill set, volunteers learn valuable job
and life skills. They have the ability to unite with others to
improve their community and make a difference in the lives of
people within it. Volunteering also creates a unique sense of
pride, self-achievement and camaraderie.

Thak
you, Day Sponsors!
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity’s day sponsor groups who
pledged both donations and volunteer labor toward the Emerald
Hollow project. 2008 day sponsors are Physician’s Endoscopy,
Gilmore & Associates, NextGen Healthcare Information Systems,
Inc, Merck/Schering Plough, Goldman Sachs, and Wells Fargo Home
Mortgage.
Volunteers help welcome home six
families.
On Thursday, March 13, Habitat for Humanity held a dedication
ceremony to welcome six new homeowners to Emerald Hollow! Pastor
Robert Mitman of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Perkasie
joined us to dedicate the homes of the Andrew, Allen, Dorn, Staats,
Lewis, and Gicuki-Thiga families. Keys were presented by Family
Support Committee members Brian Haigh, Pat Petersman, and Susan
Vincent, Collegiate Challenge volunteers from Avon Old Farms School
and Miss Porter’s School, Sandi Stachelek representing Buffini
& Company, and Jim Walker and Tom Ritter from Lowe’s
in Warrington and Quakertown. Welcome gifts for the families were
provided by the Faith Relations Committee, Ed Neff, Buckingham
Friends School, the Upper Bucks County Thrivent Chapter, and Carols
Scents n Soaps. Bibles donated by Berean Christian Store were
presented to each family, and volunteer Jill Sonlin provided delicious
refreshments for the ceremony. Thank you to everyone whose contributions
helped these six families achieve their dream of homeownership!
