Physicians Endoscopy staff partners with Habitat by raising funds and volunteering!
Day sponsor Physicians Endoscopy spent three Wednesdays in January painting doors, hanging drywall, and braving the cold to work on foundations at Emerald Hollow. Roman Delight, next door neighbor at their Doylestown office, provided lunch at each build day. Thank you to Physicians Endoscopy and their employees for your tremendous support!

Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County and the Bucks County Association of Realtors, Inc. have launched Neighbor to Neighbor 2008! The program is a partnership between Habitat, the association and its members to build homes for deserving families in Bucks County. The goal of the program is to raise $100,000 with the help of local realtor agents; and, in addition to a financial commitment, the program encourages participants to promote the mission of Habitat Bucks to make safe, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in Bucks County. >Click to see more about the Neighbor to Neighbor program!

  Partner Spotlight
Lowe’s store #1667 in Quakertown has been an extraordinary partner from the start. The attitude of every employee is “how can we help you?” words that have been music to our ears for over two years now.

We approached the store in late 2004 while planning our first Women Build program. In addition to being extremely receptive to hosting Women Build clinics (created through the national partnership between Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity), they made clear that they were ready and willing to do whatever else they could to help. In 2005, they ran the clinics multiple times and also offered advanced clinics to women interested in training to become crew leaders. In 2006, they again ran multiple sessions of the Women Build clinics. Each year, the clinics have received rave reviews from Women Build participants, thanks to Tom Ritter in Commercial Sales and his assistants.

Melissa Harris, the store’s Installed Sales Coordinator, has been a driving force behind the store’s participation. Her enthusiasm for our mission and commitment to doing everything in her power to help has made her indispensable. In 2005, she undertook the organization of a region-wide build day at Emerald Hollow. Employees of area stores came together to build and had such a great time, they did it again in 2006!

The store has also chosen to support us through their Lowe’s Heros program. In 2005, that took the form of bringing a gift of tools and materials in tow to their build day at Emerald Hollow. In 2006, they purchased and donated a playset kit to our Women Build-ers, who built it as a training and awareness raising activity at a local shopping center and then raffled it off to raise funds.

From researching landscaping materials to moving sheds and playhouses to donating materials to our Resale events, the staff at Quakertown Lowe’s have proven themselves incredibly dedicated and generous. We simply cannot thank them enough for all that they do, but we can try! Our first step is telling the world how much we adore Quakertown Lowe’s. Got a handy man or woman on your Christmas list? Now you know where to go!

In November and December, the store is participating in the Homes for the Holidays program, another Lowe’s/Habitat national partnership. See above for more information on this program!
