Each home requires a commitment of 2000 volunteer hours, financial contributions averaging $4,250 per day and the dedication of innumerable individuals speaking on behalf of the program. Habitat relies strictly on the generosity and commitment of our neighbors and partner families to provide these resources.

Dow Chemical Sponsors a Home!
Dow Chemical Company is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County to partially sponsor the building of a home at our Colonial Avenue site this spring and summer 2010. With a financial commitment and a commitment of products, we are grateful for Dow being a corporate partner with Habitat Bucks. The groundbreaking for the Dow build is Wednesday, May 26 at 12pm and the building will start on this day as well.

How to get involved with Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County
ACT!
Approximately 2000 volunteers donate more than 10,000 hours to Habitat Bucks each year. Our comprehensive volunteer program includes diverse opportunities for youth, seniors, individuals, groups, builders and non-builders alike. We regularly create volunteer opportunities based on ever-changing organizational needs.

GIVE!
It takes financial contributions great and small, by both groups and individuals, to achieve our mission. Every donation to Habitat Bucks helps us make safe, simple, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in Bucks County. No matter the amount, your donation makes an impact at Habitat Bucks. “It takes a village,” the saying goes, and we are no different. We need a community of givers in order to continue providing affordable housing options in Bucks County. We encourage all volunteers to consider making a donation of $25.
Do you work for a large corporation in the area? Find out if your employer matches donations and maximize your contribution. Are you a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans? Their Thrivent Builds Giving program is another great way to increase the value and impact of your gift.

SHARE!
Ways to Share! are innumerable and only limited by your imagination. Every experience you have volunteering for Habitat Bucks, every donation you make is an excellent reminder to spread the word about Habitat’s mission to those around you. Send an email telling your friends and family about your day on site, host a small get-together with a housing theme, invite a friend to attend our next dedication with you, participate in a Build-a-Thon.
Many of the “Acts” listed above also include opportunities for sharing. Join the faith committee and do presentations to area congregations or speak to another volunteer on site whose knowledge might not be as extensive as yours (or ask them to SHARE with you!).
Our staff is ready and willing to help you SHARE our mission. We can provide materials and suggestions, or even simply sit down for a chat and help you to better understand what we do and why. The dialogue is the important thing. Every conversation about Habitat moves us one step closer to making affordable housing a matter of conscious and action in Bucks County.
